Solve The Biggest Problems With Exterior Painting Companies Like Ipc

There are many paint problems found around the home. A dye project to be successful involves three steps – prepping, priming and applying the dye. All the steps are necessary to achieve great results. Let us discuss some of the problems, causes, and solutions related to this process.

Blistering

Blistering occurs when the top layer of dye parts ways along with multiple layers. It is hard to predict by exterior painting companies when this is going to happen exactly. It may happen all of a sudden, or it may take place gradually over a period of several months. When the surface is not properly dried before being dyed, blistering occurs. Acrylic dye is more prone to blistering and bubbling. They can happen on both interior and exterior surfaces especially if preventive measures have not been taken beforehand.

Avoid on rainy days

Areas of the house such as basements have a tendency to be humid, so they need special care. Applying color on any exterior surface on a rainy day is harmful. You will notice on the website of ipcrenocrew, if a storm is expected then exterior painting companies do not apply dye for at least eight hours. Water filled blisters can occur on a humid day. These need to be scraped and retouched.

Ways to extend drying time

If everything else fails, then you can apply conditioner. This helps in keeping the dye from drying too quickly. For solvent finishes, linseed oil can be used to extend dry time. Thinning of colors with mineral spirits or water only makes the situation worse because it accelerates the drying process.

 Alligatoring

This is a failure in the paint film where the color develops cracks or splits resembling that of a skin of an alligator. Alligatoring may occur when the second coat was applied over the first later of color without drying it properly. It may also happen that the second layer of dye was applied over an incompatible color.

Efflorescence

This crystalline deposit on any surface of stucco or concrete occurs as a result of salt formation. This is a seasonal problem related to humidity. This issue disappears in the summer season and intensifies in the rainy season.

Mildew

This is a fungus that grows on the paint film. It is marked by gray, brown, green or black blotches. Some of the causes of mildew are the use of low-quality dye and not applying primer before painting. Another reason may be the lack of adequate sunlight and poor ventilation which results in fungal growth.

Precautions while painting

Do not paint on a surface which is not very clean. While repainting a surface covered with oil based paint, you should use oil instead of latex. Mixing paint and primers on the same surface will cause numerous problems. Heat causes the surface to expand. Latex and oil paints behave differently in this case. Do not paint at all if the outside temperature is too high. If possible, try to paint in the shade as much as possible.
